With this week’s special guest, Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein, Krystal and Kyle dive into Jill’s vision for her campaign following Biden’s exit and Kamala’s entrance; Trump’s racist remarks in a recent interview; how Jill would work to establish a lasting peace in Palestine following a ceasefire; and much more. Watch our exclusive interview below:
In her comments on the current state of the ‘24 race and on the current Biden presidency, Jill Stein draws out the importance of Biden’s and Harris’s silence on the current growing “mega-crisis” with Iran. So far, Biden’s genocidal policy on Israel has led to unconditional support for endless violence in Gaza, a constant flow of weapons to the IOF, and a failure to engage with escalating tensions in the region. Jill notes that the U.S.’s current backing of “Israel’s aggressive policy” will prevent the Biden administration from supporting a path to peace, and that even more suffering and violence will result as a product of this deliberate bias.
While the Biden-Harris admin has therefore planted its heels on the issue of Israel-Palestine, refusing to pursue real solutions to this conflict in accordance with international law, Jill talks us through what would come after a ceasefire for her administration. To her, it’s vital that the U.S. joins negotiations with a strict adherence to international law, not clear and bloodthirsty favoritism for Israel, as is the current policy. It must recognize the ‘67 borders drawn for the region and demand an end to the occupation in Gaza and throughout all of Palestine, as well as a removal of all troops. Jill points out that threatening to support a boycott could be a necessary and effective tactic to ensure Israel’s compliance if it does not follow guidelines for a lasting peace. The flow of weapons from America to Israel must, above all, be stopped.
All of this is to say that Jill Stein, as always, has insightful takes on the humanitarian issues too often left unaddressed in mainstream political conversations, and it’s an honor to have her on the show for this discussion.
