The Associated Press is asking the question ‘will mpox be another pandemic?’

What’s ‘mpox’?

It’s monkeypox, but because that was deemed to be a bit racist by the World Health Organisation, for reasons not really explained.

So, naturally, it’s been rebranded by just dropping the ‘onkey’ bit.

Nevertheless, the media wants you to know, it’s definitely coming and it might be a pandemic.

The article states “The World Health Organisation has declared the ongoing outbreaks of mpox in Congo and elsewhere in Africa to be a global emergency, requiring urgent action to curb the virus’ transmission.”

It continues, “Sweden has since announced it had found the first case of a new form of mpox previously only seen in Africa in a traveler, while other European health authorities warned more imported cases were likely.”
