Courage In The Age of COVID shows that country singer/song writer/guitarist John Rich is an independent thinker. Rich explains that the “parallel economy” exploding around the country as entrepreneurs offer options and people vote with their dollars is allowing musicians like Oliver Anthony and himself to succeed without music companies. See Oliver Anthony: Rich Men North of Richmond.

In the video below, Rich discusses his latest song, the Bible-inspired “Revelation” released on July 12 – the day before former President Trump was shot! Rich explains “There’s never been a song like this song!” He says “Revelation” was written in under an hour and was inspired by the prophecies of the Apostle John about the future of our planet and the eventual return of Jesus Christ.

Rich says, “I hope this song brings strength to the saved, conviction to the lost, and fear to the truly wicked. The real war is not between left and right, it’s between good and evil, and God wins in the end.” “The real war is not Trump and Biden. The real war is not culture war.”  Rich quotes Ephesians: “We wrestle not with flesh and blood, but with principalities and powers and the rulers of spiritual darkness of this Earth.” He says,  “That is the real battle.”

Rich talks about the enslavement by globalists who want to control our money with Central Bank Digital Currencies. Rich’s site is https://www.johnrich.com/.

“Revelation” Is Top Country Hit

The independently released, biblical song is holding its own against some of entertainment’s biggest artists. Country singer-songwriter John Rich released his latest single, “Revelation,” on July 12, 2024. During its first week, the Christian-country single quickly climbed the charts. It took the top spot on the iTunes country songs chart and climbed all the way to the second spot in all genres. Mr. Rich, now an independent country artist without major label backing, is proud of the single’s chart success. But for him, the truth found in the song’s message takes precedence over industry accomplishments.

From Mainstream Act to Independent Artist

Mr. Rich made a huge splash in country music with the 2004 release of “Horse of a Different Color,” his debut album as part of the duo Big & Rich. Just a year prior, the duo had signed with Warner Bros. Records and had multiple hits….

By 2014, Mr. Rich and the other half of the Big & Rich duo, William Kenneth Alphin (Big Kenny), amicably parted ways with Warner Bros. Records. They felt their music wasn’t being made a priority by the company, and they set out to do things on their own terms.

Mr. Rich began releasing songs as a solo artist on their label, and multiple singles charted. He eventually created Rich Records and became the sole operator of what is essentially a one-man show. Little did he know that this paved the way for his most recent success. As “Revelation” thrives, it’s becoming his biggest single release as an independent artist.

A Welcome Surprise

Within the first week of releasing “Revelation,” the song experienced significant chart success. It quickly took the No. 1 spot on the iTunes country songs chart. Among all genres, the song charted all the way to No. 2. In order to do that, it had to compete with the music of mainstream artists like Eminem, Post Malone, and Kendrick Lamar, and even fellow independent musician, Tom MacDonald….

Since Mr. Rich’s exit from Warner, chart success has always been a bit unexpected. However, he’s never doubted the power of songs like “Revelation.” The root of the song’s success can be found in its message. And if there’s one word to describe “Revelation,” “striking” would be an appropriate one to use.

Delivering a Message

The bluesy, gospel-tinged track draws heavily from biblical passages. While watching TV one day in his Nashville home, Mr. Rich was inspired to write “Revelation” as a way to  get back to what’s spiritually important. Amid cultural unrest and negative imagery on TV, he wanted to write a Christian-themed song that focused on the importance of God’s word.

In an interview with Breitbart News Daily, Mr. Rich said the acoustic-based country track reminds “listeners to search for the real meaning behind their worldly obsessions.” The song draws heavily from the Book of Revelation. Lyrically, it features scripture from verses as opposed to Mr. Rich’s own thoughts…..

Mr. Rich wrote the song in under an hour. When it came time to film the music video, he asked his friend and actor, Nick Searcy, to be a part of the video…..Through the years, he’s taken a path similar to Mr. Rich’s, independently releasing films as opposed to releasing them through major movie companies….

When asked about the single’s success, he firmly stated, “This song was not written to be a hit song. … It wasn’t written to be a piece of commerce, a piece of business. This is a message that is being delivered.” The song does have a serious feel to it. Lyrics involve what Mr. Rich has described as “a spiritual battle.” The song’s melody has been described as “revivalist-inspired country.” The instrumentation takes on a heavier, fire-and-brimstone approach. However, he wrote it from a place of empowerment. And he hopes others feel that way after listening to it too.

Revelation Soars To Top of iTunes Chart

John Rich’s Bible-Inspired Anthem ‘Revelation’ Soars to Top of iTunes Country Music Chart, No. 2 for All Songs 7/l17/24

Revelation” — country music star John Rich’s new single that takes its inspiration from the final book of the New Testament — has soared to the top of Apple’s iTunes country chart on its first week of release. It has also reached the No. 2 spot for all songs –putting Rich in the company of such A-list talent as Tom MacDonald, Post Malone, Kendrick Lamar, and Shaboozey.

“I wanted this song to come out now in the middle of 2024 as I believe a lot of people are starting to turn back to the Book, to the pages of the Bible to try to find some type of answer, some type of real truth,” he told Breitbart News Daily host Mike Slater. “It is the only perfect truth — what’s written in those pages. It’s not what you say, not what I say, not what the press says, it’s not what your preacher says. It’s what the Book says. So this song is what the Book says.”

Rich — whose other smash hits include “PROGRESS,” “End of the World,” and “Shut Up About Politics,” —  said he also wants “Revelation” to serve as a warning, reminding listeners to search for the real meaning behind their worldly obsessions, like Trump vs. Biden and left vs. right.

“I think we’re all guilty of being sidetracked with the circus that is going on and missing the real point — which is there is a spiritual battle going on, right now, and it manifests itself in the physical which is what we’re seeing today.” “This song was not written to be a hit song,” he added. “It was not written to be a piece of commerce, a piece of business. This is a message that is being delivered.”
