Meanwhile the other nations, once more divided . . . will be constrained to fight to the point of complete physical, moral, spiritual, and economical exhaustion.

That is a line from an apocryphal letter claimed to have been written by the nineteenth-century American Freemason Albert Pike, in which he made a few amazingly accurate predictions about the future of civilization. He never wrote those words, but by the gods, someone should have. Does that sentence not perfectly describe the state of the West right now? Divided and fighting to the point of complete exhaustion.

Exhaustion.

You feel it when riding a bus filled with the circus noises of rowdy passengers, little black devices in hand blaring a cacophony of jungle beats for everyone else to hear.

You feel it when logging on to social media and are immediately beset by adverts from OnlyFans “online sex workers,” the ramblings of emotionally incontinent journalists — each one trying to outdo the other in posting the most melodramatic provocation.

You feel it when sitting down to watch a film, only be to ambushed by feminist and anti-white propaganda delivered with all the subtlety and grace of a drunken homeless schizophrenic.

We live in a society. And it is exhausting.

Like a soldier defending a fortress from a besieging army sending wave after wave of squadrons towards the parapets, it’s almost impossible to enjoy a moment’s respite from the attacks on your physical, moral, and spiritual constitution. Not even festive sporting events provide refuge. In fact, they have now become the battering ram used to smash the walls of your mind.

Three years ago, when Euro 2020 was held in 2021 due to COVID-19, the tournament was saturated in exhausting politics. There was controversy over the vaccination status of players and fans. Yes, remember those days? Race politics smothered the event more than anything else, however. From the England and Belgium team still “taking the knee” in the name of George Floyd and “anti-racism,” to The Economist magazine asking why the Italy team had no black players, all throughout the tournament the storm clouds of racial politics hung over every match.

The British government and media class probably were the most obsessed with ramrodding race and immigration into what should be — what used to be — just a month-long football competition between European peoples. London Mayor Sadiq Khan and even members of the Conservative-In-Name-Only party celebrated the “diversity” of the England team and went so far as to say that the team’s success (England reached the Euro Cup final for the first time in its history) was thanks to the country’s immigration policy and black players with migrant backgrounds. When those very same black players failed to score decisive penalty kicks in the final against Italy, a maelstrom of race grievance-grifting and race lecturing swept through the country.

A year later, the football played at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar was more like a distraction, a backdrop, to the political games taking place off the pitch. This time, race politics gave way to gay politics as liberal progressives from Western nations protested the host nation’s no-tolerance stance on homosexuals. The German squad pulled a stunt by covering their mouths during their team photo, an act meant to represent the oppression and restrictions on freedom of expression gays and other people considered social abnormals suffer in conservative Qatar. The Qatari tournament’s organizers warned the captain of the England team not to wear a rainbow-colored “One Love” armband or he would be punished with a yellow card and ultimately a match suspension.

Like Italy in Euro 2020(*21), the Argentina team that went on to win the World Cup in 2022 had no black players, once again causing media outlets much consternation, especially because the “French” team Argentina defeated was at one stage of the game entirely comprised of black Africans except for the goalkeeper. If diversity, open-borders immigration policies, and #blackexcellence were the keys to victory, results on the actual field of play not only suggested otherwise, they confirmed otherwise.

Going into this summer’s European Cup held in Germany, the auspices foreshadowed yet another event that would be exhausting, and not just for the athletes running around for 90 minutes. Before a ball was kicked or a match played, the host nation’s team was already making the obligatory proclamations in praise of “new” Germany and its “diversity.” From both the Germans and the British newspaper the Daily Mail came a dazzling display of lobotomized liberalism. The paper ran with this headline: “Germany’s ‘racist’ football fans are told they must ‘wake up’ by their furious manager and stars after 21 per cent asked for ‘more white players’ in the team for Euro 2024.”

In reality, that 21% did not “ask for more white players.” They were asked by a questionnaire if they preferred more white — read, German — players on the German team. As is their right, they said yes. The Daily Mail in its article called this a “shocking question” and the German team captain, who is a Turk named Ilkay Gundogan, said it was “a shame.” Meanwhile, the German team manager, Julian Nagelsmann, had this to say:

There are people in Europe who’ve had to flee because of war, economic factors, environmental disasters, people who simply want to be taken in. We have to ask what are we doing at the moment? We in Germany are doing very, very well, and when we say something like that, I think it’s crazy how we turn a blind eye and simply block out such things.

What’s crazy is that Nagelsmann thinks he’s thinking. The only things Germany turns a blind eye to and blocks out are the gang rapes and knife attacks perpetrated by the people who Nagelsmann incredibly still “thinks” are poor souls escaping war and environmental disasters. Nagelsmann and the Daily Mail write-up continued:

‘As a team, we are trying everything to get everyone in Germany behind us. A survey like this is absolutely counterproductive.’ Nagelsmann agreed with [German team player] Kimmich that the survey was ‘racist’ and said a football team can be a role model for how different cultures, religious backgrounds and skin colours, can join as a group towards achieving major goals.

Well, Mr. Nagelsmann can cry all he wants, but the fact of the matter is that getting everyone in Germany behind the German national team would a lot easier if both weren’t full of Turkish Muslims and Africans. More from the German coach:

I always find it bizarre that we all go on vacation to get to know other cultures and then other cultures come here and we complain about it. It’s bizarre.

The head-crushing, exhaustion-inducing stupidity of this statement should be obvious. Vacationers don’t, as it turns out, stay in the place they visit. They go back home. In general, they are a net positive for the country they visit, although as recent anti-tourism protests in Barcelona demonstrate, mass tourism can be damaging in ways similar to mass immigration. As for the second part of Nagelsmann’s declaration, some cultures are not worth having around, which liberals like Nagelsmann cannot and will not ever admit. Furthermore, “cultures” do not “come here.” People come here, and they bring their culture with them. Something else people like Julian Nagelsmann cannot and will not admit is that there is a maximum limit to the number of foreign “cultures” a nation can accept before it buckles under the weight of them all. There’s nothing “bizarre” about it at all.

Finally, Nagelsmann concluded:

We’re playing a European Championship for everyone in the country. And anyone who can play top football is invited to be a national player and give their all for their country. And that’s what we’re doing. And I hope I never have to read about such a crap survey again.

Ooooh, you’re a tough guy, are you, Julian? He wants Germans to “wake up,” but he is the one in need of an alarm bell. “Anyone who can play top football” is welcome in the national team. Then it isn’t a national team in any meaningful sense, and it isn’t “their country” for which the German team is playing. This was deftly demonstrated by the footballer Antonio Rudiger. Before Euro 2024 commenced, Rudiger won a major competition with his club side, Real Madrid. After securing the victory and lifting the trophy, Rudiger celebrated by brandishing the flag of his home nation, Sierra Leone, and shouting its name to the cameras. Yet, in this exhausting modern world of incoherencies, contradictions, and hypocrisies, we are supposed to believe that Mr. Rudiger is a German through and through, and Germany is his much-beloved country.

Like many African footballers playing the sport in Europe and representing European nations on the pitch, Rudiger debunks the myth of passport nationalism. It doesn’t matter where they were born or what piece of paper they might have signed. They can’t help but show themselves for who and what they really are: citizens of convenience.

Rudiger’s flag-waving Sierra Leonean pride also shows how Europe has been molded into another United States of America “across the pond.” In the US, there exists a huge population of hyphenated Americans who have the flag of their home country tacked to the wall of their garage or “man cave.” In some cases, they’ve never even been to their “home country,” yet they cling to it with jealous zeal, just as Rudiger does with Sierra Leone. Now in Europe we are seeing the same: hyphenated “Europeans” waving the flags of countries on different continents, home to different races, that they may or may not have ever been to, yet with which they are innately compelled to identify. All this serves to dilute the meaning of European identity — once strong and monolithic, to paraphrase Barbara Spectre — until eventually they will be as diluted and meaningless as the “American” identity.

All this was just the amuse bouche, however. Once Euro 2024 got underway, we were treated to some delicious main courses. Not having learned their lesson three years ago, the English regime again made the England team’s diversity the center of attention. Like a vegan who just has to let everyone know she’s a vegan, white liberal English journalists, black Members of Parliament such as Dianne Abbot, and black football pundits such as Rio Ferdinand couldn’t stop themselves from deifying England’s BME (black minority ethnic) players, falling victim to the same hubris that set them up for failure in 2021.

Immigration extremists and diversity zealots simply see the football, and especially major international tournaments, as a weapon with which they can wage mediatic warfare.

Even the England team itself makes it a point to focus on “woke politics.” We are talking about the team that continued to kneel for Black Lives Matter long after every other team had grown tired of the charade. Just as a fish rots from the head, team England’s wokeism started with the manager, Gareth Southgate. He has since resigned after losing yet another European Cup final, but during his tenure he made no secret of his devotion to the liberal progressive dogma of the day. Speaking of what he expected from his players, Southgate announced:

It’s their duty to continue to interact with the public on matters such as equality, inclusivity, and racial injustice, while using the power of their voices to help put debates on the table, raise awareness, and educate.

One would have thought that their duty was to try to score goals and prevent the other team from scoring, but not these days. In this age of exhaustion, the diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) message must be the centerpiece even of a football team.

England did not play very well — in fact they usually don’t, hence Southgate’s resignation despite the admirable achievement of reaching consecutive Euro Cup finals — but every time England managed to scrape together a win, the network of media, BME activist groups, and public figures heaped all the praise on the black or mixed-race players.

Something called the Migration Museum put together a graphic which asserted that ENGLAND DOESN’T WIN WITHOUT IMMIGRATION. This message was repeated by a non-governmental organization called Choose Love, which made graphics of their own. Both statements imply that were it not for immigration, England would only have three players. There just wouldn’t be anyone else to play for the team were it not for immigrants.

Of course, the obvious response to such propaganda is to point out all the other ways England would be different without immigration. For starters, there wouldn’t be Pakistani rape gangs targeting English girls. There wouldn’t be bomb attacks in the Manchester Arena. There wouldn’t be cities like London and Birmingham with a minority English population. This is the double-tipped spear that the diversity zealots don’t quite know how to wield and therefore end up impaling themselves upon. If minorities and migrants are meant to be praised and get all the credit when one of their lot kicks a ball into a net, then surely they must be condemned when a huge number of their lot commit crimes and their anti-civilizational behavior lowers the quality of life for everyone unlucky enough to live in their proximity.

Even sticking just to the football, the claim that ENGLAND DOESN’T WIN WITHOUT IMMIGRATION is absolutely begging for karmic castigation. The chutzpah of such a declaration is truly a marvel. England hasn’t won a bloody thing in over half a century, since it won the World Cup in 1966 with a team of pale stale males. It doesn’t win without immigration? It doesn’t win with it, either. What’s more, the teams that do win — the teams that defeat England’s magic migrants in the games that matter most — are almost entirely ethnically European, full of native players representing their actual nation, as was the case in 2021 when Italy beat England, and as was the case again this year when Spain inflicted another loss on the Three Lions. We’ll come to Spain shortly.

Results on the pitch don’t matter, though. Feelings don’t care about facts, and the diversity zealots are very emotionally attached to their cause. They try to rig the game into a “heads, I win; tails, you lose” trap. When the magic migrants win, Leftists who don’t even care about the sport take advantage of the opportunity to rub their politics in little Englanders’ faces. When they inevitably lose, all their blustering and arrogance vanishes, and it’s like we’re supposed to live as if they hadn’t spent a month contaminating a sports event with their chemical waste.

It’s also worth remembering that when England’s women’s football team actually did manage to win the women’s Euro Cup in 2022, the same media and political establishment chastised the team for being . . . the horror . . . all white. These vipers and lackeys don’t care about England. If they are black, they care about their racial kin. If they are immigration extremists, they care about using the football to push their ideology. The end result is that the native English are deprived from having a normal and healthy connection to their national football team, and are driven to a point of exhaustion.
