The New York lawsuit against Trump may keep Trump from appearing at the Republican National Convention 7/15-7/18. The video below shows that  Steve Bannon was sentenced to prison for the four months before the election – for  a misdemeanor! Bannon is the former White House Chief Strategist and Senior Counselor to President Trump.

Steve Bannon Requests Ruling By June 18

In the video below, Bannon who hosts Bannon’s War Room podcast, discusses his 4-month prison sentence which begins July 1 for his conviction on two counts of contempt of Congress in 2022 when he refused to answer questions from the House January 6 Committee.

Bannon explained that in 2012, U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder refused to provide Justice Department documents about the Fast and Furious scandal. When Holder cited executive privilege, he was held in criminal contempt, but the Justice Department (which Holder led) didn’t prosecute him. Bannon also invoked executive privilege, but because he is a Republican affiliated with Donald Trump, he was convicted on two counts of contempt and was ordered by a federal judge to report to prison.

Bannon explained,

This is a misdemeanor. When we were in the federal courthouse, the guy that ran the courthouse said he had never seen a misdemeanor go to trial…. So, I think we’re heading towards a constitutional crisis this country has never had before….. They want to send me to prison in July to make sure some of the strongest of President Trump’s advocates are taken off the playing field. They want him remanded on the afternoon of July 11th. They don’t want him to go to the Republican Convention. Stand on that stage and before the world take the nomination so hard fought for.

Steve Bannon asks appeals court to allow him to remain out of prison while he fights contempt of Congress conviction 6/11/24

Bannon filed an emergency motion asking the U.S. Court of Appeals for Washington, D.C. to overrule a lower court’s ruling that ordered him to report to prison on July 1. Bannon is asking the D.C. Circuit to quickly rule on his motion — by next Tuesday — to allow him time if necessary to appeal to the Supreme Court over his conviction on two counts of contempt of Congress in 2022, after he refused to answer questions from the House Jan. 6 committee.

Bannon’s attorney argued in Tuesday’s filing that his imprisonment would block him from acting as a “meaningful adviser” in the campaign leading up to the November election. “The government seeks to imprison Mr. Bannon for the four-month period leading up to the November election, when millions of Americans look to him for information on important campaign issues.”

Bannon: This is an illegitimate regime of neo-Marxists from the Justice Department to the FBI, the Wall Street crowd. You can see this everywhere in our society, the attacks on the family, and they play for keeps. I’m so glad that….so many others now understand this is a war to the knife. We don’t win this, this country is going to devolve into some kind of neo-Marxist, totalitarian regime, of which it’s pretty far down the road right now.

It’s providential that we lost in 20 that was stolen. Until then, you thought Democrats had different ideas on certain programs. But they are literally a neo-Marxist revolutionary group that wants to fundamentally change this country. Now that they have the power of Big Tech, the lords of easy money, Hollywood, the universities, both high and low culture, they’re going to destroy the American republic we grew up with.  It is a war.  I’m going to go in as a as a prisoner of war. I’m a political prisoner.

They want to put Trump in prison for hundreds of years. They want to destroy one of the greatest Americans in our country, Rudy Giuliani — bankrupting. With President Trump’s second term, there is going to be accountability, not retribution, not revenge. He’s got the border to shut down, mass deportations. He’s got to stop these endless wars, particularly in the Ukraine. Until that time, this is a war, and a lot more people are going to go to prison than Steve Bannon…. You don’t think they can put anybody in prison?

We had three things that we argued in the court. The three things are up on appeal. Still back at the DC circuit, maybe to the Supreme Court. It’s the very structure of Pelosi’s committee, because in Watergate and Iran-Contra, you had a ranking member and you had minority counsel. The minority counsel gets all the testimony and you can do cross-examination.  There was no ranking member.

So, I believe that has to go to the Supreme Court. We need a thorough investigation by the House into the January 6th Committee…was it a Fedsurrection or not? Every couple of days you get information that was suppressed. But July 1st, I’ll serve my country as a political prisoner, in a federal prison for a misdemeanor — whatever it takes to win this revolution, we got to do.

Tucker:  But you did serve your country in the US Navy. You’re now being betrayed and persecuted by your country.

Bannon:  Not our country, Tucker. No. We’re being  oppressed by an illegitimate regime that usurped power. This illegitimate regime is trying to persecute not just President Trump. They’re going to send him to prison on July 11th. They may defer that, but they’re going to give him a prison sentence, as they’ve given Rudy Giuliani. They’re liquidating Alex Jones’s media operation. They want to shut down the War Room. I hope Republicans understand that the reason we got in this situation was establishment Republicans that were controlled opposition.

Tucker: I have a list of Republicans who voted to hold you in contempt, a vote that led to your prison sentence. Fred Upton, Liz Cheney, Adam Kinzinger.

Bannon:  You can’t lean on Trump, Tucker, Bannon, or Alex Jones. This is a populist revolt. You have to step up and do it yourself. You have to do more media sharing, become a force multiplier. You have to understand we’re in a political war and information war, and you’ve got to start fighting. It’s going to be a lot more people than Donald Trump and Steve Bannon going to prison unless we stop it now. That’s why when you have people like John Yoo and Andy McCarthy over National Review, you realize we’ve hit a tripwire.

Tucker:  So is there a point at which, in the case of President Trump, where the case is so absurd and the penalties are just are a mockery of justice, that you just say I’m going to run for president, as is my right as an American.

Bannon: I think we may be there on the afternoon of July 11th. I think it’s a gut check, and people have to look at it on July 11th, if President Trump gets a multi-year prison sentence and is put on hold, maybe for his appeal, for some time to give him a home release, or somehow they put restrictions on his ability to go out and campaign. People started asking some very deep questions because New York was the show trial, like Moscow in the 1930s. This illegitimate regime has taken over the apparatus of the United States government, and it’s enforcing dictatorial power. And we have to stand up for it, just like the revolutionary generation stood up to the dictatorial power of the Crown.
