Who’s reading The Signal? It’s a question we think about every day.

Why? Because we started The Signal on a conviction that there were others out there who, like us, wanted to understand what’s happening in the world beyond their immediate surroundings—and were frustrated by the sources of information and perspective available to them.

We saw established media as increasingly dominated by politicized narratives and “storytelling”—while trust moved to small camps of niche voices. So we wanted to develop something new: a consistent, illuminating source for the curious and the connected; an approach focused on incisive questions about important changes shaping our world; and a brand that didn’t want to tell us what to think—but could help us all think for ourselves.

And we were right. We’ve found you.

And many others like you: The Signal’s readership is now more than 100,000 globally. You live across the United States and around the world. Overwhelmingly, you’re interested in current affairs because you want to be well oriented and effective—in your work, your community, your life. And you care about a wide range of topics and trend lines that are forging our future as they mold our present.

We’d like now to get to know you better. As ever, please write anytime with your thoughts or questions: concierge@thesgnl.com.

In the meanwhile, we’ve prepared a very short, anonymous survey we’d appreciate you sparing only a couple of minutes on. Your responses will be invaluable in helping us with our plans here at The Signal.
