A fairly quiet month—just 26 black-on-white homicides, including a home invasion, perhaps two white women killed by black Significant Others, road rage, the usual random savagery, and one female Social Justice Warrior hoist (so to speak) on her own petard.
Darryl Roberts, 57, was charged with first-degree murder.
Police reviewed video of the incident and said Roberts was in a red shirt and dark-colored pants talking to another man near a stairwell at Patten Towers. They said the video showed Chris Wright walk past the two men, then turn back to talk to them. He then walked away from them about 30 feet south, then again turned toward them but did not approach them.
Roberts then walked toward Chris Wright, produced a gun, and shot him in the head at close range. The victim fell to the ground.
Wright was described as a prominent businessman who was in the area for a Baylor School reunion.

She was found on a nearby porch at about 9:30 p.m. and pronounced dead an hour and a half later.
Rural Street, where she died, hasn’t been “rural” for generations. But when I grew up in the nearby Irvington neighborhood, the city’s near -east side remained a relative safe, though cash-poor, white area. As the dark cloud of urban savagery engulfed the area, violent crime followed.

Slain Baltimore CEO died of strangulation and blunt force trauma, court documents say , CNN, September 29, 2023
LaPere had apparently been dead three days before being reported missing.
Officials said Billingsley was being tracked by investigators at the time of the murder because police believed he was responsible for a rape, arson and attempted murder days earlier. That incident left a man and woman in critical but stable condition.
Billingsly “was released from prison less than a year ago after serving only nine years of a 30-year sentence,”according to dailymail.co.uk.
