Hard Times for Police in France

12-3-2018 < Red Ice Creations 104 127 words

Chaos and disorder are becoming more common: The Jungle camp at Calais, violent riots, acid attacks, and tent villages in the center of Paris.

Even incidents like train ticket disputes or simple security checks can now result in violence.

One of the most recent large-scale riots was at Paris’ Gare du Nord train station after a police patrol arrested a young man suspected of drug dealing. He suffered a heart attack during the arrest and died a week later.

Angry protesters claimed that the suspect was the youngest member in a “long list” of “non-white men” killed by the French police. The police used pepper spray against the violent protesters who occupied the train station, disrupting service.
